One of many interesting places to eat in Montreal, Kavaloo is special in that it offers a dining experience for families with small children. There are two dining rooms, both bright and cheerful with fun art on the walls. One of the dining rooms has a playroom attached to it, with large windows for monitoring the little munchkins while they play. The playroom has two slides and a pool full of balls, and those padded building block toys. In addition to highchairs and booster seats, Kavaloo has those little tables and little chairs that children love. The food is tasty and nutritious, with good coffee and desserts, and there are special menus just for babies and children, with purees and fun stuff for toddlers. In terms of pricing, the children play for free as long as the average meal price per person is above a certain price, I think around $6, and if not then there is a small fee for the children to play. And it’s in Outremont, one of Montreal’s beautiful neighborhoods, so if you’re not familiar with the area it’s worth it to check out the cafe and the neighborhood at the same time.
