Among all the neighborhoods of Montreal, the northern part of Westmount and not far from the western edge of Mont Royal mountain is an area very likely to leave you speechless… unless you already live in such opulent surroundings, that is. I am talking of the Montreal Summit Circle area, featuring the nicest and biggest house (castles) you can imagine, and also the most gorgeous views on the town. Walking around the summit circle area is a very pleasant way to spend a morning.
Next to some very beautiful real estate is a very nice wooded park that is traversed by a maze of several wide walking paths. It’s called Parc Summit, and it’s a good spot for the locals to take their dogs for a walk, or families to take their young kids on a walk through the “forest”. Just on the southern edge of Parc Summit is a look out which provides a beautiful view of the western part of Montreal, the St Lawrence river, and a little bit of the downtown area. From there, you will be able to locate the Champlain bridge, and in the far distance, the Adirondack mountains in New York state and even the Green mountains in Vermont.
If you feel like extending your visit to the area, you can walk to either Mont Royal park and its nice Beaver Lake (lac des castors) or to the Saint Joseph’s Oratory with its huge copper dome.
Here are some pictures of the area :

Isn't that an interesting sign?
