Montreal climate is characterized by 4 very distinct seasons.
Winters are usually pretty cold (down to -25 degrees centigrade) and dry. In most winters, Montreal is getting hit by 6 to 8 snow storms from end of November to April. Temperatures are usually given with the wind chill factor and also without (typically it could be -5 degree centigrade protected from the wind but -15 degree centigrade when factoring the wind effect).

Summers in Montreal (July and August) are usually hot (up to around +30 degree centigrades) and notably humid. It certainly contrasts completely from harsh winters, and it feels like another Montreal life then. Spring is rather short but very appreciated after the long winter.
Fall season is the favorite of a lot of Montrealers. Temperatures are becoming more comfortable, the sun is still quite present and the vegetation is beautiful as it turns to orange / red colors. End of September and beginning of October is actually the peak of the foliage season much appreciated by quebec tourists.
